This policy explains how I, Steele Friese, handle information through steelefriese.com, including photography print inquiries and messages about my work. You can reach me at [email protected].
What you share with me
When you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address, message, and any optional subject or phone number you include. A print inquiry may also include the photograph’s title and page. If you email me, I receive the information you choose to send. Please leave out sensitive information that is not needed for your inquiry.
Why I use it
I use that information to respond, discuss a project or print, prepare a quote, and coordinate an order. If we arrange a print order, I may need delivery and order details. Sending an inquiry does not sign you up for marketing emails.
The services that help run this site
- Cloudflare: hosts and delivers the website and helps protect it. Its infrastructure may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, and security logs. Cloudflare Web Analytics also provides page usage and performance measurements without analytics cookies or local storage. This hosting-level service is separate from the optional Google Analytics choices below. Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Formspree: processes contact-form submissions and delivers them to me. Submitting the form sends the fields you complete and related technical information to Formspree. Formspree privacy policy.
- Email providers: handle messages and forwarding so I can receive and respond to your inquiry.
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: optional analytics, when configured, help me understand visits, popular pages, photograph views, and print inquiries. The site loads these services only after you allow analytics. Analytics can include browser, device, approximate location, and interaction information. My custom events do not send your name, email, phone number, message, or gallery search text. Advertising and personalization consent stay off.
- YouTube: the films page uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedded players, which provide the video thumbnails and playback controls. These players load as they approach the visible page area, independently of your analytics preference. Once loaded, Google may process technical and viewing information. Watching a video directly on YouTube is governed by its own policies. Google privacy policy.
I do not sell your personal information or use this website’s analytics for targeted advertising. Information is shared with service providers as needed to operate the site, respond to you, and fulfill an agreed order, or where required by law. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries.
Cookies and your choices
The site stores your analytics preference in your browser’s local storage for up to six months. Optional analytics may use first-party cookies after you allow it. Video players may use their own storage when loaded or played. Loading or watching a film is separate from your analytics choice. Hosting and security services may use essential storage when needed.
You can change your privacy choices at any time. Rejecting optional services does not stop you from browsing photographs, emailing me, or submitting the contact form. Changing a choice may refresh the page to stop services already loaded. This site keeps optional analytics off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Browser settings can also clear cookies and local storage.
Retention and security
I keep inquiry and order information for as long as reasonably needed to respond, complete an order, maintain necessary records, and meet legal obligations. Service providers also apply their own retention settings. I use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee complete security.
Access, correction, and deletion
Email [email protected] to ask about information you have shared, request a correction, or request deletion. I may need to verify your request and may retain information required for an existing order or legal record. Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have additional rights. You can contact me if you want a response reviewed.
Other websites and future changes
Links to Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other websites lead to services with their own privacy policies. If the way this site handles information changes, I will update this page and its date.
